Bhargavi Zaveri IGIDR

Bhargavi Zaveri is a Senior Research Associate at the Finance Research Group, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research. Her primary research area is financial regulation in India, with a particular focus on foreign capital flows and securities markets. She also works on land policy issues in Maharashtra. She has held research positions at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi and the Harvard Law School. She has advised the Ministry of Finance on issues relating to financial regulation. She was part of the team working on the Indian Financial Code and the recently enacted Bankruptcy Code. A lawyer by training, Bhargavi has previously worked at a Mumbai-based law firm for six years, where she advised on land laws and transactional laws. Some of her work can be accessed here and here.
