David Medine CGAP
Mr. David Medine is CGAP’s lead in data protection and security. He works to develop novel, consumer-oriented approaches to data protection and to encourage the creation of cybersecurity resource centres for developing countries. Mr. Medine has more than 25 years of experience with privacy and consumer financial services. Prior to joining CGAP, Mr. Medine had been appointed to serve as the first Chairman of the US Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) by President Obama. Before that, he was the head of non-bank financial enforcement at the US Federal Trade Commission and earlier also served as a senior advisor at the White House National Economic Council under President Clinton. He has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College.
