Elisabeth Rhyne is an independent consultant working on financial inclusion and financial health. As senior advisor on financial health at the Office of the UNSGSA, she led its Financial Health Working Group.
Rhyne is the founder and former managing director of the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion (CFI), a research center that challenges the industry to better serve, protect and empower clients.
She co-founded the Smart Campaign, which embedded client protection principles throughout the microfinance industry, and led Accion’s entry into Africa and India. She has published numerous books and articles about microfinance and financial inclusion.
