On 4th August 2026, Dvara Research hosted a roundtable titled ‘Advancing Women’s Entrepreneurship: The Role of an Integrated Digital Money Management Tool’ to facilitate a discussion on its study on Women Nano Entrepreneurs.
The roundtable brought together practitioners, NGOs/SHG representatives and other think tanks working in the space of women’s financial inclusion. The session opened with a presentation on the research, the typology created by Dvara Research for Women Nano Entrepreneurs and the integrated money management tool designed and tested with these entrepreneurs followed by an open, moderated dialogue where participants shared their own experience of designing for and working with them.
The study on which this roundtable centred was undertaken to understand the distinct financial lives of women nano entrepreneurs who simultaneously manage household finances and operate informal enterprises. Money flows freely between the two, regardless of whether it originates from the household or the business. Despite the substantial sums passing through their hands, these entrepreneurs remain largely underserved by existing financial tools, which are designed around business-only models that fail to reflect the integrated nature of their financial lives.
Dvara Research, in partnership with MeraBills, a financial bookkeeping platform, undertook an action-research initiative to understand the money management challenges women nano entrepreneurs face and to design a digital money management solution that addresses them. The study led to the creation of a comprehensive report. Read the report here
