We should care deeply that millions of Indians are still turning to expensive informal financial services in the face of seasonal and volatile incomes, despite years of trying to improve access to basic financial services.

Pudhuaaru KGFS Turns 9 – The Journey of the First Branch

June 1st marks the 9th anniversary of KGFS since it first began its operations in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. From opening its first branch in the Karambayam village, KGFS now has 221 branches spread across around 2000 villages of Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Uttrakhand, catering to over 715,000 customers.
