The social protection landscape in India is transforming at rapid speed owing to the digitization of the various systems that are involved in the process flow of social protection delivery. Especially in the aftermath of COVID-19, this phenomenon has gained even greater momentum. In this chapter, we describe this phenomenon, which is unfolding around the world, with India leading the way in many respects and also describe the constitutive elements of an evaluation framework that various stakeholders could use to assess the performance of these newly emerging tech systems.
